The Okanagan Valley is a Mecca for sports enthusiasts and athletes alike. There are opportunities to partake in anything from minor and amateur sports up to world-class semi-professional sports. Big White itself is known as the second best mountain in British Columbia to ski or snowboard on, and that is only because BC is also home to Whistler/Blackcomb, possibly the best skiing in the world. View the main attractions page to see all that Big White has to offer in terms of events and activities.

People come from all over the world to visit the Okanagan Valley Golf Courses because of the weather that is available in our area of the world. We boast such courses as Predator Ridge, which hosted the Export A’ Skins Game in 2000 with Fred Couples, Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson and Mike Weir and recently ranked as the 3rd Best Golf Resort in Canada, and Gallagher’s Canyon, a breathtaking course that continues to be ranked as one of the best in BC. Not only are these and many other courses here in the Okanagan Valley incredible, but the weather continues to spoil us, and allows golfers the perfect weather for a day on the links, hot, dry and long hours of sun. If you are considering purchasing Big White real estate, there is no end of courses to keep you satisfied.

If you are a hockey fan, there are numerous arenas in the Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton areas, as well as the outdoor venues hosted at Big White itself. There are world-class facilities in both Kelowna and Vernon that entertain some of the most entertaining hockey in BC. Kelowna is home to the Rockets of the WHL, winners of the memorial cup in 2004 that was actually hosted at Prospera Place, the home of the Rockets. This gives hockey fans a chance to view fast-paced, exciting hockey played by the future stars of the NHL. And the Vernon complex played host to the training camp of the Vancouver Canucks before the 2003-2004 season, and was also the focal point of the CBC series, Making the Cut. If you are interested in playing hockey, figure skating or any other arena minded sports, there are numerous venues in the Okanagan area to satisfy your requirements as well.

If you are a sports fan and are considering purchasing a property in Big White, know that your interests are being catered to, in a world-class way!
