In September, the Okanagan plays host to the International Dragon Boat Festival. If you aren’t a racer yourself, there are events and entertainment all weekend and the festival is all ages so the family can have a great time. The race itself takes place about a 45 minute drive from Big White, on the water on the edge of downtown Kelowna, by both City Park and Waterfront Park, and the sunny beaches of Kelowna are more than welcoming to host you and your family all weekend long. Live music also plays a big part of the weekend with 54-40 and Colin James playing to the crowds over the past 2 years. Vendors, exhibitors and food concessions are available all weekend as well.
